Pirates!

We have been learning about Pirates this week. What can you remember about Pirates? Have you made anything for the Pirates at home like treasure maps or a measure in a bottle?
Why don’t you try making some Pirates’ Grog? This is a drink which Pirates need to keep them warm on deck.

For each pirate you will need: Directions:
1 lemon 1. Cut the lemon in half and squeeze out the juice.
1 tablespoon of brown sugar 2. Put juice in the jug and add sugar and ginger.
1 pinch of powdered ginger 3. Add hot water and stir well.
1 jug of hot water

Let us know if you try it!!!

Transport

This week in Reception we have been learning about transport. What is your favourite way to travel? I like to travel in a plane and one day I would like to go in a rocket! Miss Wilkinson likes to travel on steam trains and one day she would like to travel on a spaceship! Let us know the transport you like to use.

This week we have been learning all about shapes in Reception. We have been describing different shapes, looking at corners and sides and saying if they are 2d or 3d.
Can you have a look in your home for some shapes and can you make a comment on the blog to describe what you have found?

Welcome back

Welcome back to school, we hope you enjoyed your holiday. What did you do in the holidays? can you write it on the blog?

In Reception we are now learning about shape, pattern and colour. We have been looking at the shapes on the shape table and describing what they look like. We have been looking at all the changes in the outside area and describing the different colours that we can see.

We have also got some visitors, in our Reception classes. They are black and they have a tail. What do you think they are?

Pyjama Day!

Well done to all those children who came to school in their pyjamas on Tuesday. We had a fabulous day with party games, disco dancing and even a midnight feast at the end of the day while we had a bedtime story! What was your favourite part of the pyjama day?

Spring

This week in Reception we have been learning about Spring. We have been looking for signs of Spring outside and playing in the garden centre inside.  We have been painting pictures of daffodils and drawing trees. What signs of Spring can you see? Can you draw some pictures of Spring and bring them in for ‘Show and Tell’ this week?
